Recovery According to Fitness Junkie Madi Chu

Madi Chu | This fitness warrior and eco-preneur has a surprising depth for someone so young. We chat with her about her fitness journey and road to recovery.

Madi Chu on Recovery

Welcome to the age of fitness. The rocker lifestyle is so last season, and we are loving it. Gone are the days of partying it up in the club ’til the wee hours and waking up hungover. Instead of talking about which clubs to hit, people are comparing different types of workouts.

We caught up with self-confessed fitness junkie, Madi Chu, to get the low down on what sparked her love for exercise.

“I started being a dancer when I was 2 years old,” Madi recounts. She wanted to make a career of it. “I really wanted to take my dancing to the next level.”

However before a big audition, she went on skiing trip. This led to an accident that tore her meniscus.

“It put me on a different direction,” she reflects. She used the painful experience as inspiration to finish a degree in Sports Science.

Of her own recovery, she has this to say: “You always have this phase when you feel really depressed, when you feel like you can’t do anything. But I know with patience and the right recovery and the right training – and it’s all in here,” she gestures toward her head, “the right motivational attitude is gonna help you get on the road to full recovery,”

After hearing her story, not only did we end up feeling motivated and armed with the right mindset necessary to get into and maintain a healthy lifestyle (major fitspo alert!). We fell in love with her cute paper shades, too!
