4 Ways To Enjoy The Long Weekend In Cape Town

Well hey there, long weekend. Bring on the couch naps and wine-infused games of Monopoly. Except, you know, the weather is gorgeous and there are loads of events happening over the next few days. Why not save the board games for winter and head out to explore Cape Town instead?

27 – 30 April: Decorex

The city’s top design and lifestyle exhibition is back! Head down to the CTICC for a feast of visual inspiration, and follow it up with a real feast at nearby Nomad Bistro.

28 – 30 April: South African Cheese Festival

A festival. FOR CHEESE. Why haven’t you bought your tickets already!? I’m planning on making a day out of it with a post-cheese trip to Marianne Wines.

29 April: The Sneaker Exchange

In the market for a fresh pair of tekkies? This is the event for you. At the Sneaker Exchange you’ll be able to buy, sell or trade your kicks, all whilst enjoying live music and chilled vibes. Grab a drink at The Polynesian Pearl Diver afterwards to celebrate your new sneakers.

1 May: Cheap As Chips Market

The Shred regularly hosts this market to raise funds for expanding public park projects, and it’s always loads of fun. Expect skating competitions, great food and entertainment – plus a whole lot of bargains to be found.

So there you have it. Although you can’t use your Entertainer on public holidays, there’s more than enough going on to keep you occupied over the weekend. Let us know what you get up to 🙂
