Palm Jumeirah can be a daunting place if you don’t know your way around and with so many hidden gems to visit, we wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t even know about half the places to go and things to do.
Over the years, a plethora of hotels, bars, restaurants, shops and more have popped up all over the palm-tree shaped island and even we find it hard to keep up with what’s new or where’s best to go when visiting Palm Jumeirah.
That’s why we’ve put together this guide to direct you to some of the Palm’s hottest spots. Don’t be fooled though, this is just a snippet of venues waiting to be discovered on your app. Start with these and then delve deeper and see what else you can get up while saving money with your app on the world-renowned man-made island!
Where to stay
Fairmont The Palm – Palm Jumeirah
Offer: One Room Night
Our Opinion: Fairmont the Palm is our go-to choice when looking for a place to stay on Palm Jumeirah. Its location on the trunk lends itself to easy access to a number of bars, restaurants and activities across the Palm and despite being a huge hotel, it’s cosy enough to feel like a home away from home. There are two pools, one for kids and families and another just for adults. There is also private beach access! The staff are all wonderfully accommodating and we’re sure you’ll find yourself wanting to extend your stay. We sure did!
Top Tip: Get a sea-facing room. The views of JBR and the Marina at night across the water are spectacular.
Where to eat
All’onda – Emerald Palace Kempinski
Offer: Main Course or Sparkling Friday Brunch
Savings: AED110 or AED450
Our Opinion: If you are a fan of Japanese and Italian cuisine (we know, sounds like a strange combo) then All’Onda will be a hit with you. This fusion restaurant has cool interiors, amazing views and a beautiful terrace. The food is a strangely endearing mix of Italian dishes and Japanese dishes and we have to say, we really rather enjoyed it!
Top Tip: Try the robata-grilled chicken, it comes to the table, still on the grill, sizzling hot and is absolutely delicious.
Aji – Club Vista Mare
Offer: Main Course or Friday/Saturday Brunch
Savings: AED105 or AED375
Our Opinion: Another fusion restaurant, Aji combines Peruvian and Japanese elements to create mouth-wateringly good dishes with a pretty beach setting. It’s actually one of the few Peruvian restaurants in Dubai and they certainly deliver the goods. We absolutely love this place and its delicious ceviche to boot.
Top Tip: Sit outside as the sun sets and enjoy the view of the beach and sparkling sea water.
Seagrill Bistro – Fairmont the Palm
Offer: Main Course
Our Opinion: Fresh seafood and a sea breeze are hard to beat and Seagrill Bistro has both of these wondrous things. With an extensive array of freshly caught fish and shellfish, you’ll be spoilt for choice at this lovely little eatery
Top Tip: Try the oysters, it’s something everyone should do at least once in their life.
Where to play
Willow Stream Spa – Fairmont the Palm
Offer: 90Min Willow Stream Signature or 90Min Pink Grapefruit Treatment
Savings: AED829 or AED799
Our Opinion: The Willow Stream Spa is one of our favourites in Dubai and to top it off, it’s located in our favourite hotel on the Palm. It has its own private lift for that extra touch of exclusivity and is the perfect place to go for some downtime. Recharge your batteries, shut out the world and relax, you’re worth it.
Top Tip: Try a Moroccan bath, you’ll never feel cleaner in your life than after one of these treatments.
Monty’s Rowing and Paddlesports – Palm Jumeirah
Offer: Paddle Board Session
Our Opinion: After all the eating, napping and spa visits, you’re going to need a little pick me up and one of our favourite ways to squeeze a bit of exercise into our day and still have fun, is to go paddle boarding. It’s a great core workout plus and when you go boarding on the Palm, you’re treated to some pretty spectacular backdrops.
Top Tip: Go early in the morning to watch the sunrise and start your day with a sense of calm.
Lost Chambers – Atlantis the Palm
Offer: Adult Admission
Our Opinion: Located inside the iconic Atlantis Hotel, the Lost Chambers is a great day out for all ages. Take the kids or go with friends and discover some underwater facts and see some fascinating sites. We don’t know about you, but there is something so relaxing about staring at fish, that we end up spending hours watching the world go by, admiring the sea life.
Top Tip: Don’t rush through it! Take your time, read the signs and take plenty of pictures.
Anantara Spa – Anantara the Palm
Offer: 60Min Signature Massage
Our Opinion: Visiting the Anantara Hotel is like finding yourself in a hidden jungle in the middle of the desert. It’s a tropical, calm oasis and the spa is no exception. You’ll never want to leave once you step inside and immerse yourself in the treatment menu and who could blame you, we’d live in a spa if we could too!
Top Tip: Go at sunset and enjoy the warm glow of the setting sun through your treatment room windows as you’re massaged into slumber.
