7 Ways To Support Those In Need During Lockdown

Let’s be real – everyone’s struggling atm. Some more than others, yes, but it’s safe to say that the entire world is in need of support one way or another. If you’re reading this, it’s clear that you’re missing us, our amazing partners, and their life-changing offers.

But, in order for them to stay afloat, they need your support. Here’s how you can be a helping hand:

CAPE TOWN | Woodstock Brewery

From Lagers to Lekker; from Pilsners to Providers

Ok, get this. These guys turned their ENTIRE brewery into a soup kitchen. They’ve partnered with all the right people in order to provide food for those in need. How incredibly incredible? Lockdown is tough on everyone – literally the entire world – but if you’re reading this article, you probably have the ability to support those who don’t know where their next meal will come from. Let’s donate so that these guys can make more soup!

CAPE TOWN | Den Anker

This ambitious and big-hearted brewery set themselves up to fundraise R50k in order to nourish the hungry. The campaign is called #BackABuddy and we’re here to help them do just that. We challenge you to make a donation if you’ve ever ordered a beer at a bar, ever craved a beer, or if you’ve currently run out of beer. Basically, just donate.

CAPE TOWN | The Drawing Room Cafe

This initiative couldn’t be more spot-on for all the hipster Capetonians out there. The Drawing Room wants to support YOU. Your creative needs. Your musical needs. It’s called a ‘watch party’, and all you have to do is follow their social media pages for announcements on when the next act will be. Make sure you have good wifi signal, a drink in hand (if you have any left) and tune in for some epic tunes.

DURBAN | The Happiness Factory

It’s all in the name – the Happiness Factory wants to make us happy. And they way they’re doing it is by being open and trading! Yep, you read it here first. Their trading hours have changed slightly, but you will still be able to get you fave goods between 10am – 2pm. Woop woop!

JOHANNESBURG / PRETORIA | Burger Bistro

Gautengeleng, your favourite burger joint is doing some great work and you should help ’em out. For every R100 / R250 / R500 gift voucher bought, Stella Artois will top up your donation with an additional 50% to be redeemed after lockdown. We think that’s pretty cool, and we cannot wait for that first, juicy, delish bite in the very near future. (Hopefully).

JOHANNESBURG / PRETORIA | Salsa Mexican

Taco ’bout how we’ve missed our regular fiestas and tequila / nacho parties. Luckily, if you purchase an earth-saving Spekboom plant for only R80, you’ll get a R50 voucher to enjoy at your favourite Salsa store when lockdown is over. YAY for more plants in the house, and YAY for vouchers.

SOUTH AFRICA | Art Jamming

This is a crucial one – supporting all the parents who are now forced to be teachers on top of juggling everything else, too. An e-workbook for your kids has never been this attractive. It’s informative, educational, and creative. But most of all, it’s something to keep the kids busy with.

Let’s support, #StayENTERTAINED and most importantly, stay home, South Africa!
