Delve Into Darlene’s Life In Qatar

Blogger and Travel Writer, Darlene, continues to make us jealous with her images (see @pointandshootwanderlust – you’ll agree), so we wanted to delve a little deeper into her life!

Tell us more Darlene…

You’ve been in Qatar for one year now, how have you been spending your time at the weekends?

I can’t believe I’ve been here for just over a year now, how time really flies. My weekends usually vary from exploring more of Qatar, eating my way around Doha with friends, having some much needed me time, or shopping!

Tell us 3 locations where you can’t resist taking photos

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of taking pictures in MIA Park and Souq Waqif. There’s always something new or interesting every time I visit. I love taking photos at Qatar’s beaches as well. I would love to take more shots at Katara and the deserts though!

What are the 3 top favourite places you like to visit on your ENTERTAINER?

All of my favorites on the ENTERTAINER are all food and drink outlets. It’s hard to pick the top 3, but I would say Eatopia, Jones the Grocer, and Magnolia Bakery. The ENTERTAINER is so handy, and such a good saving app – especially for people who love eating out and trying new food!

Which other Qatar-based Instagram accounts do you like to follow, and why?

@cherimacleod, @buenafotos, and @hayasenberg for more of Qatar’s different sides and spots. I get to see more of Qatar through their Instagram accounts.

And for the food scene, @rachelannmorris71, @foodsheikha_qtr, @geraldsarmiento, and @qatareats for the mouthwatering shots of the dining scene in Qatar and beyond.

What’s been the most exciting thing that has happened to you since you’ve moved to Qatar?

The same with travelling to new countries and destinations, I can say that the most exciting thing since I moved to Qatar has been learning about new cultures, exploring new places, tasting new cuisines, and meeting and making new friends!
