Wine Week: Raise Your Glass To The Weekend

Wine Week rolls out again and London is so ready for it you can almost hear the obnoxious comments about bouquets and strawberry notes.

Since we found out one glass of wine has the same benefits as an hour of exercise, Wine Week has quickly become a very anticipated event, and so we have listed some amazing places to get a glass of red, white or rose.

The Italian Job

Enoteca Rabezzana‘s Verdicchio di Matelica is a full-bodied and floral white, always crisp and lemony, so it’s a great choice for seafood and fish dishes. Verdicchio compliments raw fish beautifully, so we recommend you to try it alongside Rabezzana’s wonderful yellowtail tartare. Buonissimo!

What’s French for “more wine”?

The answer is “plus de vin“, and that’s exactly what you should be asking for at Pall Mall Fine Wines. Especially if you order a glass of Chateau Mille Roses’ Margaux. Bright fruit, mature complexity, and heavy-bodied red that will go great with other equally bold flavours. Order the large mix platter, it includes the finest charcuterie and deliciously pungent cheeses, like St Maure, Pont-l’Évêque and Camembert. De rien.

English what?

Yes, there is such a thing as English wine, and we are so happy with how it turned out! Hush State in Kent is the source of St Bart’s Brewery English wine selection. Their Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are great but we couldn’t settle for any, so we went for their Balfour Brut Rose 2013: “England’s most exclusive pink fizz”. Fresh rosehip scent on the nose, and quince, herbal flavours that last long on the palate. And forget about food pairings, just order an extra glass!

In fact, the ENTERTAINER app makes sure you always get a complimentary glass of wine at these amazing venues, so raise your glass (and then raise it some more). Cheers!
