HK’s Best Nightspots

Nightspots | When the night falls every Friday and we’re more than ready to kick up our heels and let our hair down, we thank our lucky stars that we live in a city with one of the most vibrant and energetic night scenes in Asia. But as soon as the skyline lights up, indecision ensues. With Hong Kong’s buzzing network of bars and restaurants, picking a place can be a daunting task. We know. We’ve been there. But fear not, we rounded up our favorite nightspots for lush lounging, exceptional eats, and delightful drinks.

HK’s Best Nightspots

Whether you’re here on vacation and you want to check out the Hong Kong nightlife, you’re here on a business trip and you’re looking to impress your client with a fantastic dinner or you simply want to end the week and start the weekend with a bang, these five nightspots are right on the money.

Bungalow

The sophistication of this place is undeniable as you devour delicious contemporary Western-European dishes underneath huge glass chandeliers. But our favorite thing about this place located on the busy Wyndham Street is the way it transforms into a swanky nightclub later in the evening. That saves the ladies in heels a painful walk barhopping.

Lai Bun Fu

Gag on luxurious old Hong Kong meets British colonial influence interiors. “Lai Bun” is Cantonese for hospitality while “Fu” refers to Sifu or Master chef, and true to its name, this contemporary restaurant is Hong Kong’s leading culinary ambassador. Chef Chung Kin Leung’s signature dishes like the foie gras prawn cutlets on toast and Sifu’s crispy chicken with 5 sauces are modern versions of classic Chinese dishes, served with the most stylish presentation.

The Woods

Fresh off its founder Victoria Chow’s Best Mixologist win at the recently concluded Foodie Forks 2017, this concept cocktail bar on Hollywood Road provides a sweet escape for the tired and weary in Central. Sip on traditional cocktails with a twist like the Beet Negroni, made with beetroot-infused Tanqueray gin, as you sit amidst this basement bar’s earth-toned decorations, including the centerpiece – a mural of a tree by Victoria.

Bao Bei

Take your bae to this hip evolved HK-themed lounge on Wyndham where you will be greeted by a wall full of Chinese bamboo steamers in different sizes. Colorful Oriental paintings complement fun drinks like the Yakult shot and Childhood Memory cocktail, which contains Vitasoy malt. Don’t leave without having a basket or 2 of their specialty fusion baos.

Picada

Leave your dull days behind and say bienvenidos to Hong Kong’s first pan-Latin restaurant and bar! This 2-floor space on the famed Wyndham Street oozes party vibes Latinos are well known for from the music to the fun and vibrant décor, the live performances and heavenly food. Take a culinary journey through Latin America Picada-style, through a share platter of Latin cuisine.
