Afternoon Tea Week Celebrations

You better warm up your pinkies, because it’s #AfternoonTeaWeek, the second hashtag even of the year that gets me truly excited (the first one is #LondonChocolateWeek). Fresh scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, little cakes… What’s not to like? A classic High Tea is basically all your five-a-day (the five that matter, anyway) in one.

Read on for our top High Tea recs within the ENTERTAINER:

Podium

Located in Park Lane, between Hyde Park and Green Park. Podium’s High Tea is sort of a perfect storm for me, since they have a Chocolate Lovers Afternoon Tea. May God have mercy of my sweet tooth!

Amba Hotels Charing Cross

Their classic tea set is absolutely perfect, with two options including sparkling wine or champagne. The location is right at the Strand, so what better pre-theatre plan than enjoying this feast, gazing into the hubbub of Trafalgar Square?

Tattershall Castle

A very classic approach, but enjoyed on a boat on the Thames, which adds a bit of Colonial England exoticism to your afternoon. For adventurers and people who sneer at the mainland.

Voltaire

Champagne or Kir Royale is recommended with this High Tea, and get cozy in any of Voltaire’s Vaults! Also, you can always transition from tea to cocktails…

Cinnamon Soho

A beautiful marriage between Indian cuisine and this British classic with their High Chai Afternoon Tea. Special mention to their Banghra lamb sliders.

Happy chomping, nibbling, spreading and sipping! Let’s carry on with this fantastic tradition, and remember, pinkies always out!
