British Summer: 5 Cozy Spots For A Rainy Day

What’s the reason for this cozy mood? Well, it is with great sadness that we turn another page of the British Summer Book. We grudgingly began with chapter one: “Wishful Thinking”, then moved on to chapter two: “Park Life”. Chapter three, the controversial: “Disco Inferno” had Londoners very divided, depending on who had and who hadn’t forgotten the sunscreen.

So after our little rendezvous with temperatures above 30 degrees, August has unlocked the latest episode of our Summer saga, titled: “This Is England”, and we must embrace the showers and winds that will pepper the rest of the season. How? By taking our advise and getting cozy in these great spots:

Pitfield Cafe

Let’s start by combining this cozy spot with the importance of a great breakfast. Wrap your hands around the biggest latte you can get, warm up with their uber-healthy porridge and get ready for a lovely morning working or reading while the rain falls outside…

Greenwich Tavern

This traditional pub takes comfort to a different level with their tree house space, filled with fairy lights, cushy corners and pleasant views to the Royal Observatory Park. Soup of the day, bread and butter are the only thing you’ll need to spend your lunch or dinner, safe from the moody weather.

Champagne + Fromage

A bit of moody rain was the je ne sais quoi this Parisienne spot was missing. The soft pitter-patter of the raindrops on the windows goes great with a piping hot fondue, and well, champagne goes with everything!

Clive’s Midtown Diner

Warm your cockles with Clive’s New England Clam chowder (no pun intended). If you’re not a fan of fishy flavours, their coffee is excellent, as wells as their cake selection (their pecan pie is to die for). Whatever you choose, Clive is just a great place to hang around, away from the cold.

Smaka

It is a truth universally acknowledged that cinnamon buns + coffee + rain are the ultimate combination. And so Smaka is the perfect choice to finish our rec list. All their ingredients are locally sourced, and a perfect showcase of how comforting Swedish cuisine is!

So, even if Summer is not finished yet, now you have 5 different plan Bs to turn to. You just need to make the ENTERTAINER your umbrella, and let us take care of everything! Stay dry!
