Reward Those Skills: 3 Tips For Organisation

Being busy seems to be a standard part of everyday life nowadays. With the pace of life getting more and more frantic, it pays to be more organised. Just remember to reward yourself for it too.

Here are our top three ways of being instantly more organised along with three ways to treat yourself for being so productive!

Plan ahead

Start the day by outlining all the tasks that you need to do that day. Then go a step further and prioritise them, making sure you highlight the work that needs to be completed on the day and any that can wait a little longer.

This will result in a more structured day, as you’ll be able to see exactly what needs to be done at a glance, rather than mulling over tasks in your head. It will also help you timebox your tasks and plan your day better – leaving gaps for breaks when needed.

Reward: Planning your day, and even your week in advance will mean you’ll have time to schedule in a reward for yourself. Head to Manhattan Nails Brows & Lashes at the end of a productive week and indulge in one of their many treatments including manicures, pedicures or semi perm lashes.

Take on the hardest task first

We often start a busy day with the easiest tasks and aim to get these done first. However, this can prove counterproductive and may just be a short-term gain, as the larger more difficult tasks end up building up until the very end of the day when you are tired and hungry.

Instead, start the day with the most difficult task, even though this might take up the majority of the day. You’ll feel like you’ve achieved much more and there’ll be less of a risk of the task rolling over to the next day. Finish the day with smaller tasks that you can do quickly and get through your to-do list even quicker than normal.

Reward: Having the courage to take on the hardest tasks first thing definitely needs to be rewarded. Book a hair styling session at Remix Hair & Beauty and spend some of your new-found time on you.

Don’t get distracted

There’s nothing that kills productivity more than task-switching. Research has shown that moving between tasks before completing one actually results in each of the tasks taking considerably more time to finish. Don’t fall into this trap. Instead, take on one task at a time, making sure you finish it before starting on a new one.

Reward: To concentrate on a single task you need a relaxed mind. Chill out at B.Paul Spa & Beauty Clinic, if you’re in the Leicester area, for a wonderful massage or a express facial.
