Here’s what’s new this February in Dubai

How many of you managed to stick to your New Year resolutions? We’re not here to judge, but rather commiserate with you because let’s be honest – January is an awful month and we don’t understand why anyone would want to torture themselves with dry January or force yourself into a diet when there is still plenty of Christmas chocolate left to eat.

This is why we consider January a trial run. February is when the year really gets going and we want to help you forget those January blues and welcome February with open arms!

These are our top picks of what’s new this February on the app. We hope you like ’em!

EDITOR’S PICKS

Taikun: Friday Tokyo Brunch

Estimated Savings: AED399
Location: Vida Downtown
Our Opinion: Brunch is one of our favourite pass-times here at the ENTERTAINER and when Taikun came up in conversation we knew we had to try it. There is really nothing to dislike about this smashing brunch and I’m going to tell you why.
First up, the location. Downtown is a stunning place to be in general and Taikun is situated right on the boulevard. That’s not the best bit though. As soon as you walk in you suddenly feel transported to a tranquil dojo in the middle of Japan. Hanging plants, ceiling fans, living walls and quirky wooden decor all add to the cool, laidback atmosphere and it set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
The outside area feels very private and secluded. We all loved the private garden vibe! There are trees and plants surrounding the decking and it was a gorgeous day to sit outside and take it all in.
Next up, we have to talk about food. Every single thing we tried, we loved. From the sushi and starters (make sure to try the tuna tataki) to the hot mains (the hoisin chicken and fried rice were particular favourites) and mouthwatering crème brûlée, it was all made with love and eaten with gusto!
We were impressed with Taikun and its offerings. The staff were attentive and on-point with bringing anything extra we wanted and kept the drinks flowing. Lastly, we have to mention, they even have shisha and it was the perfect end to what was quite frankly a fantastic brunch.

Kimpo: Main Menu Item

Our Opinion: Kimpo brings Korean street food and their famous fried chicken to Dubai and it’s not to be missed. If you haven’t heard about Kimpo yet, it’s the talk of the town. We can’t think of anything we’re craving more than fried chicken paired with hops right now and Kimpo is calling our name.
