Meet The Ultra-Chic Diana From Sweatshirts And Dresses

Having only moved to Dubai in March of this year, it’s safe to say this lady has made quite an impression already.

With her personal style influenced by her Russian roots but brightened up by her move to Dubai, Diana from Sweatshirts and Dresses documents her take on the current fashion trends, top beauty finds, travel tips, and much more. We’re not the only ones that have had our eye on her. Her personal style has been featured on websites such as Vogue, Grazia and Stylist. We can see why!

Get ready to meet Diana, the lovely lady behind Sweatshirts and Dresses with our interview.

Hi Diana, tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m originally from Russia and moved to the UK when I was little to study. For the past ten years I’ve been living and working in London but moved in March to start a new life in Dubai. I also love penguins and have the cutest dog in the world, a puggle called Sydney.

We absolutely love your style! What are your top style tips?

Have fun with fashion, don’t be a slave to trends.

Who are your style icons?

My mum! She has such confidence which I think is 50% of looking stylish. I’m also a huge fan of Miroslava Duma, Giovanna Engelbert, and Aimee Song from @songofstyle.

What are the wardrobe staples that every woman should own?

A great pair of jeans, a tailored white shirt, block heels, a forever coat, and a timeless statement bag.

We’ve been fans of your blog for a while now. What are your tips for a new blogger?

Another cliché but it’s so true. There isn’t anyone else like you so embrace your personality and go for it. Be genuine on what posts are sponsored as the reader always knows! Also, get someone to help you set up your website and don’t be afraid to ask other bloggers for advice. That’s what I did!

What are your photography tips?

I’ve worked on the picture desk at various magazines like Harpers Bazaar UK and now Emirates Woman, so visuals are number one for me. Be sure to invest in a good photographer or camera. It sounds cliché but a great picture is worth a thousand words.

Tell us about your favourite spot in Dubai.

I’m happiest when I’m by the water so I spend every weekend on the beach at the One & Only Royal Mirage. I’m also a bit of foodie. I love the restaurants in DIFC, especially La Petite Maison.

You only moved to Dubai in March of this year. What are your tips on how to settle into life as an expat in Dubai?

Before we even left London I started reaching out to bloggers in the region to meet up so I could ask them a bunch of questions. Dubai is a very friendly place so don’t be shy to connect and interact with people here. I’m also keen to join a sports or a foreign language group.

Who are your favourite people in the UAE to follow on Instagram?

Dana from @dee4dana was the first person I met up with here in Dubai and is incredibly genuine and has impeccable style. I also love Sai’s positive energy from @thesandgypsy. Also check out Nicole @nicole_ontrend for the latest Chanel pieces, Fatima @fatimamac who is the most stylish mama in Dubai, and Olga from @sandinthecitydubai who shoots great street style photography.

Where is your favourite place to use your ENTERTAINER?

The Armani/SPA

Challenge someone based in Dubai to be interviewed next by us.
