We love Dubai. We really do. But sometimes we just need a change of scenery. And stepping into Toko Downtown is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of our city. With baby pink blossom trees, floating Japanese umbrellas, bonsai trees of all shapes and sizes, and cosy nooks and crannies filled with hidden surprises, Toko is a slice of heaven in our concrete jungle.
Whilst certainly not the first Chinese/Japenese restaurant in Dubai, Toko Downtown brings something different to the table. A wonderful atmosphere, spot on service, and the tastiest (and prettiest!) Japenese food we’ve had the pleasure of trying in a long time.
We were lucky enough to find out exactly how one of Toko’s signature dishes, the Golden Dragon Maki is created and it’s safe to say we’ll never demolish sushi in the same way again. Why? Because Sushi is an art. A piece of art hand-crafted with lots of different delicate steps and therefore deserves to be appreciated, admired and savoured. Although that’s not to say we weren’t eagerly waiting in the background chopsticks in hands waiting to dive in as soon as the dish was finished… Well, we are only human!
As you can tell from our video Toko Downtown is certainly unique and well worth a visit. Just don’t be surprised if you’re tempted to set up camp there permanently. Yep, it’s that beautiful. Of course, it’s made even more special as you can use your 2 for 1 offers on a Main Course with your ENTERTAINER!
