That’s Amore! Happy National Pizza Day!

We may be a long way from Italy but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little slice of Italian heaven in Dubai this National Pizza Day! I’m always on the hunt to find a place to satisfy my pizza craving, of which I have many… My bad. So, if you’re as big a fan of a slice of delicious crispy pizza as I am then you’re in luck as I’m taking you on a delicious road trip to find the best pizza in Dubai. Do not read while hungry. You’ve been warned.

Trattoria Toscana

Where: Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Our fave: The Bresaola with tomato sauce, mozzarella, bresaola, rocket and shaved parmesan.

When a restaurant prides itself on its rustic Tuscan cuisine you know you’ll be in for a little slice of pizza heaven. Nestled alongside the idyllic waterways of Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Trattoria Toscana not only offers delicious Italian food, which you can smell a mile away, but also picturesque views in a relaxed dining environment making this the perfect spot for the whole family to enjoy.

Carluccio’s

Where: Various

Our fave: Ham and Mushroom with tomato, mozzarella, and gorgonzola cheese.

It’s easy to get distracted by the other tasty food offerings here (umm hello lasagna), but focus people—the main event here is the pizza. Stone-baked crisp pizzas with sweet tomato sauce and gooey melted cheese with a whole host of toppings including gorgonzola, smoked salmon, and salami.

Red Tomato

Where: Al Barsha

Our fave: All Arrabbiata with tomato sauce, mozzarella, garlic, chilli flakes, parmesan, and fresh parsley.

Expect gorgeous thin crusts made with fresh, hand-tossed sourdough, topped with premium ingredients and then baked in the famous authentic Italian wood-fired oven. And with 32 unique combinations to choose from, you’ll never get bored of the same old combination here!

La Veranda

Where: Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Our fave: The Spicy Devil Chicken with mozzarella, spicy chicken, bell peppers and onion rings.

If you want to feel the sand between your toes, look out onto a stunning view, and demolish a gorgeous pizza then look no further than La Veranda—situated directly on the beach of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel with views of the Burj Al Arab this is one special spot. This casual restaurant serves up a huge variety of thin-crust pizzas with almost every type of topping imaginable so whatever you fancy you’ll be in for a treat. It’s the perfect spot to sit outside whilst enjoying a wonderfully unique pizza.

Rosso

Where: Amwaj Rotana JBR

Our fave: Divola with fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, hot spinata salami and peppers.

If you want hearty and unpretentious Italian cuisine (just like mama makes) then head to Rosso for a comforting meal of wood-fired pizza. The best bit is you can watch the chefs at work in their open kitchen as they flip and toss your pizza in the air before retreating to the outdoor terrace.

Jazz@PizzaExpress

Where: JLT

Our fave: Caprina Rosso of beetroot, goat’s cheese, red onion, garlic, mozzarella. Finished with parmesan, wild  rocket, and pesto,

As well as delicious, crispy and fresh pizzas there’s always a buzzing awesome atmosphere here with live music providing a smooth and classy soundtrack delivered daily from world class musicians. Ideal for sharing with friends, this thin crust pizza will be fought over…. So order several! With a chic crowd, all ready for a good time, this is the perfect Friday night plan.

800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria

Where: City Centre Deira and BurJuman

Our fave: Original Neapolitan with Bufalina base, beef chorizo and burrata cheese.

If you can never quite make up your mind on what pizza to choose, or if you fancy yourself as a bit of an Italian chef then head along to 800 Degrees where it’s all about you and your very own customisation. If you fancy soft and chewy, a thin crust, gluten-free, or if fresh crushed tomatoes or pesto is your bag then 800 Degrees will prepare your pizza just the way you like it. So, what will you make?

Taste of Italy by Heinz Beck

Where: The Galleria Mall, Jumeirah 1

Our fave: Pere, Formaggio e Miele with pears, Don Carlo cheese, fior di latte mozzarella and honey.

When a restaurant head chef is one of Europe’s most respected chefs, holding five Michelin stars who promises to take you on a journey through the alleys of Rome, Florence, or Sicilia you know the pizza is going to be lip-smackingly good. And trust me you won’t be disappointed, this is a place which truly lives up to expectations!

You all know what day it is. It’s Thursday! Which means you can officially break that diet regime with a pizza…or 2! Especially as all of these restaurants are in your ENTERTAINER! Enjoy National Pizza Day everyone!
