The new year represents a fresh start. A blank page. A new book. A clean slate. Social media right now is flooding with ‘New Year, New Me’ posts. There is so much hope in the world for a 360 degree change, to ‘have more positive and less negative’, more fun and less drama, and the gym is SO full. Filled with ‘New Year, New Me’ kind of people – my one hope for them is that this will last. Notepads are selling fast and 2019 diaries are sold out – I am one of those people who wrote my lists, pen to paper.
‘New year, New Me’, right? As a lover of adventure and making memories, I needed to jot down my top 10 picks of adventurous things to do in 2019. With a ‘New year, New me’ kind of attitude, comes a new bucket list. And you’re lucky enough I’m sharing it with you.
1 | Jeep Tours
This open air Jeep experience around Cape Town has been on my bucket list for a while (they also offer wine tours, dune adventures and sand boarding tours – 2019 come at me!). There is no reason for me to not tick this one off the list because now, with the Entertainer app, you can get 2 for 1 specials.
2 | Cape Town Helicopters
Did someone say, “new year, new me”? I’ve never flown in a Helicopter before so this would be a really new and exciting start to 2019. With the Entertainer app you can now get 30% off the Atlantico flight – making this Cape Town bucket list activity even more enticing
3 | Ocean Experiences
With Ocean Experiences there’s so much on offer, but I love the outdoors and water, so an adventure boat ride or seal snorkelling is definitely on my Cape Town bucket list this year. They are based at the V&A Waterfront and have awesome ENTERTAINER deals. C’mon 2019, you’re looking too good!
4 | Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop & Weaving Studio
Look, if the name didn’t catch your attention, I don’t know what will. With a 2 for 1 special on the Entertainer app, and it being ALPACAS, this is definitely a place you’ll find me in 2019. Picture the new 2019 me, frolicking with all the alpacas (dreams). Also, an awesome spot to take the kids!
5 | Dirtopia
Dirtopia is one place I’ve always wanted to go to for a hike. And this year a full moon hike is definitely on my bucket list (hey, fitness goals, right? ‘New year, New me,’ right?). Dirtopia is at the beautiful Del Vera wine farm in Stellenbosch, and with the 2 for 1 hike permit special, I’m literally giving them a call as I’m typing this.
6 | Acrobranch
Looking for a super cool outdoorsy activity hub to unleash your inner Tarzan? Then Acrobranch should be on your Cape Town Bucket List. From zip lines to Tarzan swings and nets (and a 2 for 1 Entertainer special), this is definitely my kind of place!
7 | African Croc Dive
Okay okay okay, this is defs a ‘New Year, New Me’ activity since this is something that I wouldn’t ‘normally’ do! African Croc Dive, at Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm in Paarl is an adrenaline junkie’s dream. And I think it’s a sign that there’s a 2 for 1 speical on their Crocodile Cage Diving!
8 | Aquatrails
As a water baby, Aquatrails is a must. Based in Fish hoek, they run guided river trips on Breede River. There’s also a 2 for 1 on Kayak rentals on the entertainer app, so this is 100% on my ‘New Year, New Me’ bucket list! (Can you tell I’m a sucker for a good deal?)
9 | Galileo Open Air Cinema
OK, so old me and new me loves laidback activities. I’ve seen so many people do this before but time has never allowed me to experience this open air cinema. Since it’s the New Year and a ‘New me’, I am going to make the time time! Galileo Open Air Cinema offers a magical movie experience. I love the entertainer app for offering 2 for 1 specials on ‘standard’, ‘comfy’ and ‘warm & comfy’ tickets.
10 | Aquila Game Reserve
Last but not least on my Cape Town bucket list, I would love to visit the Aquila Game Reserve. Home to a large variety of game, including the Big 5, plus a 2 for 1 overnight Safari with accommodation on the Entertainer App – it has to be a sign.
