Symphony of Lights

Hong Kong looks great during the day but is simply marvellous at night. Witness Hong Kong’s iconic skyline come to life. Awarded the World’s Largest Permanent Light & Sound Show by Guinness Book of Records, this visual delight is best seen from either the Tsim Sha Tsui or Wan Chai side of the Victoria Harbour. The 15-minute show starts 8PM every night.

Garden of Stars

Go for it – there’s no shame. No Hong Kong experience is complete without a selfie with statues of martial arts legend Bruce Lee; Cantopop star, Anita Mui; and Hong Kong’s beloved, anthropomorphic pig cartoon, McDull. If you’re wondering where these iconic figures have gone, they’ve been relocated to Garden of Stars until renovation on Avenue of the Stars is finished by the end of 2018.

Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre

It’s that building in Wan Chai that, from overhead, looks either like a turtle or a bird – depending on how much you squint your eyes. Get up close and marvel at this mammoth architectural wonder. The soaring rooftop and the glass curtain – the world’s largest, at the time it was built – have been featured in box office hits, like Transformers: Age of Extinction.

The Peak

It now costs money to get into the Sky Terrace (Adult $50 | Child $25), but luckily simply walking up to The Peak is free. Once up there, you may choose to tread the Peak Circle Walk, which winds around the highest point on Hong Kong Island. Apart from the always-breathtaking panorama of Victoria Harbour, highlights include Mount Austin Playground, the Neoclassical Governor’s Gate Lodge, and antique, made-in-England cast iron lamps strewn all over the trail.

Man Mo Temple

It’s a wonder how one may escape the hectic city within the city, and pause for a moment’s respite under Man Mo Temple’s giant, hanging incense coils. Built in 1847, this temple is a picturesque tribute to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo). It’s an Instagram trap; go ahead and happily Insta to your little heart’s content.
A: 124-126 Hollywood Road, Tai Ping Shan
T: 8am – 6pm
